The New Revolutionized Nintendo DSi

Posted on 16 Jan, 2009 by Scott under Gaming

After the ground breaking sales record of Nintendo DS, which came only a few months ago, Nintendo has come back with yet another of its wonderful creation New Nintendo DSi. It has released in Japan last November, and is due for release in America shortly.

The Nintendo DSi though being judged as a mere upgraded version of Nintendo DS, it is not so. There is score of completely new features, which make this baby leave its predecessors far behind in the league.

The New Feature:
Nintendo DSi has some interesting features, which are found on Iphones and Mac Books. For example it has two 300000 pixel camera located on the outer and inner sides. The picture quality is quite good, for Media cum Game player.

Storage:
The gadget has two High-resolution display screens, which are significantly larger than the Nintendo DS. It has a Micro SD slot on the right, where given the SD card it stores all the Media files as well as the games.

Digital Distribution:
Just like the Nintendo Wii, this media player is equipped with a full digital distribution revolution system. Nintendo intends to provide software, games and various other files directly to its customers, through its own direct-download store. Maximum of the software comes in the range of $2-$10.

However, the news is that Nintendo will also be providing a lot of software and applications for free to its customers, for enhancing the sales, so you better get lucky while there is still time. Some of the free software that they are going to circulate first includes a Web Browser.

Game:
On the gaming front, unfortunately there is nothing new, other than the fact that you can now play your games on a bigger screen. Also there is no Game Boy Advance Game slot, so you will have to contend yourself with old 8-bit or 16-bit games.

I actually don’t really like Nintendo DS. I got one before but I sell it after a week. I didn’t enjoy it. I prefer Sony PSP.

I’m quite looking forward to this.
Could be quite fun playing about with the camera.
I wonder how it will be incorporated into games.

Camera will be interesting, but mainly its the shop and web browser that set this apart from the DS lite.
