For a while I have been saying (blogging, speaking, tweeting) that we are in a smartphone boom. Yes its global recession but smart phones are hot properties today. The Toshiba TG01 is one of the latest touchscreen mobile phones. In addition, it is believed that the TG01 is one of the thinnest mobile phones with touchscreen display. The Palm Pre is all set to make its mark in this hi-tech world. It is believed that the Palm Pre could be available from March on a Sprint cellular network. However, this device will not be available immediately in all stores after its launch.

Palm revealed the power of Pre on the previous month’s Consumer Electronics Show. However, the pricing of this device is still kept a secret. It is believed that the device can rule the cellular market and may rule out all other highly advanced phones, if the price of this device is affordable.

The Palm Pre is sleek in design with 3.1-inch touchscreen display, which has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. In addition, this device has a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out in a downward direction. The phone also comes with accelerometers for switching the phone from portrait mode to landscape mode and vice-versa for widescreen browsing.

Palm claims that the Palm Pre is similar to laptop with respect to speed and power, as it runs on a new TI OMAP CPU and a new webOS operating system. It is integrated with Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Rev. A that features uninterrupted connectivity anywhere around the world. This device comes with built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0.

The Palm Pre comes with 8GB of phone memory to store office documents and multimedia files. In addition, this device has a 3-megapixel camera with flash to capture stills of high quality. It is believed that the phone is equipped with many unknown features such as capability to integrate contacts from the phone’s address book into Gmail, Outlook Exchange, Facebook and other websites.
