3G Auction in India got Delayed

Posted on 22 Oct, 2008 by Scott under Announcements

As the reader of Techtreak, who are from India, know very well that 3g technology is going to be launched in India Very soon.

I got the News that there is a delay in Auction of 3G, and Hopefully it will be held in January next year.

this is the timeline according to a newspaper.

November 30th: Auction design, bid document to be prepared

December 15th: Inviting operators to bid

December 31th: Pre-qualification of bidders

January 15th: Auction to be completed

January 25th: Signing of contracts with successful bidders

January 31th: Depositing of first tranch of auction money.

even after the Auction will be done, it will take a year for the network providers to roll out the service to consumers,

few Operators in India have already started providing 3G enabled phones to their customers.

3G is going to take off like a super rocket in India. That country is leaping ahead in technological advancement. It brings in good dollars for them, and gives us a cheaper labour force. Win / Win!
